Most Active Relative Volume
Ratio of intraday volume to 20-day average volume — used to rank where actual flow is going today.
Relative volume = today's volume so far ÷ trailing-20-day average volume for the same time of day. A relative volume of 3.0 means the ticker is trading three times its typical pace. The most-active list ranks tickers by this metric, not by raw share count, so a small-cap with abnormal interest can outrank a mega-cap with routine flow.
Why it matters
Price tells you where the market settled. Relative volume tells you how much real money was put to work to settle it there. A move on light volume is suspect; the same move on 5x relative volume reflects committed flow.
